About Me

I am a traditionally educated and holistically minded dietitian.  After completing my undergrad at Ohio State and my internship through Loyola University, I went on to complete the Integrative Nutrition program at IIN.  I believe in food, not 'nutritionism' as Michael Pollan so eloquently coined.
I am married to a great man, Cody, and as of May 24th, I am a mama to Henry Soyala. :)  Five weeks after he was born in our apartment in Chicago, we moved 'home' to Columbus Ohio.  Before we knew it we found our dream homestead, an old 1900's farm house where I can't wait to grow food, care for animals, raise my son, and turn my basement into my office!
Before Henry, my main job was counseling people as a holistic dietitian through my business, jamiefood.  As soon as I and the downstairs office is ready, I hope to start counseling again part time.
In the meantime, I still have to cook!  I love food, and I generally love to cook...when I feel like it...using as few dishes as possible.  I hate doing dishes.
Cooking is a creative outlet.  When it comes to cooking, I despise directions or complicated techniques.  I feel like there is no messing up with food.  Give it a try, see what happens!
